Boys
and girls from infancy to eighteen years of age who are lineal or
collateral descendants of such men and women who served honorably in the
Confederate Army, Navy or Civil Service, or gave Material Aid to the
Cause of the South, or who have relatives in the United Daughters of the
Confederacy or the Sons of the Confederate Veterans are eligible.
However, those who cannot present sufficient membership qualifications
may be able to affiliate with the organization as associate members.
An
application for membership must be filed with historical proof of
eligibility. Such proofs may be secured from State historical
commissions, the National Archives, the record of any registered UDC or
CofC application paper in the General File stamped "Official Record
on File," a certified copy of a Confederate Veteran's pension
application on which the pension was granted, a current published
history or numerous other sources.
