Florida's Confederate Flags

The Museum of Florida History's collection of Florida-related Confederate flags is an outstanding and significant group of artifacts associated with the state's military and social history. They are also an important part of a large body of material culture from the War Between the States maintained by museums nationwide. Currently, the collection includes nineteen examples from the War-period and two post-War flags. Among these are battle flags associated with the State's Confederate units, most of Which are thoroughly documented as to unit association and history. Florida's unique "Secession Flag" is also in the collection.
