WELCOME TO THE MAJOR WILLIAM FOOTMAN CAMP WEBSITE!!!

The Major William Footman Camp is located in Fort Myers, Florida, part of the 15th Brigade of the Florida Division, which encompasses the 5 Southwest Florida counties of Lee, Collier, Hendry, Glades, and Charlotte. The camp was founded in May of 2000 and was chartered in the summer of that year in Labelle, Florida.

The Major Footman Camp meets on the fourth Saturday every month at the Smoke' N Pit BBQ Restaurant, located at 1641 N Tamiami Trail, North Ft Myers. Optional lunch begins at 11am -the Camp program begins at 12 noon.

Visitors, non-members, wives, and children are both welcomed and encouraged to attend our meetings.  We take pride in our monthly historical presentations and discussions, and often have noted historians as our guest speakers.

Once a year our camp holds a special holiday gathering at the Hendry house in Labelle.

The Camp is named in honor of Major William Footman who led Confederate Cow Cavalry in the battle of Ft Myers in February of 1865.
