to the Miami-Dade County, Florida chapter of Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 471. Our Camp was chartered in 1995, dedicated to the honor of our Confederate veteran ancestors, and to the preservation of our southern heritage.We are striving to make our camp a vibrant part of our community and to continue the traditions of grace and honor of our southern heritage. The Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 471 is a non-profit, non-political, non-aligned organization that shares in the study of history and genealogy as it relates to the war between the states era (1861-1865). Our local chapter is active in the preservation of southern heritage, historical sites, graves, monuments, and the award of scholarships, medical research grants, and good citizenship awards in the Miami-Dade County community. Through our local camp, the SCV supports historic and genealogical societies, community heritage days, patriotic holiday events and parades relating to Miami-Dade County and Florida history.
