Boys and girls from infancy to eighteen years of age who are lineal or collateral descendants of such men and women who served honorably in the Confederate Army, Navy or Civil Service, or gave Material Aid to the Cause of the South, or who have relatives in the United Daughters of the Confederacy or the Sons of the Confederate Veterans are eligible. However, those who cannot present sufficient membership qualifications may be able to affiliate with the organization as associate members.
An application for membership must be filed with historical proof of eligibility. Such proofs may be secured from State historical commissions, the National Archives, the record of any registered UDC or CofC application paper in the General File stamped "Official Record on File," a certified copy of a Confederate Veteran's pension application on which the pension was granted, a current published history or numerous other sources.
